Ben Pearce is a British born producer and DJ with an incredibly loyal following of fans and listeners and not for no reason. He is a genuine treasure in the electronic music chest of DJ’s and producers.
One thing you can pick up from listening to his productions is that he has an ear and a love for music outside of his own boundaries, so we were thrilled when ahead of his upcoming set at Vault later this month, he agreed to take on our challenge of picking 5 tracks that inspire him, and he didn’t disappoint with a great selection of music crossing over from HipHop to Soul, into one of his favourite bands of all time, Brand New.

SOMETHING CORPORATE – KONSTANTINE
One of my favorite tracks of all time, such a powerful thing to listen to. The arrangement just builds so well. Won’t ever get old for me.
CUNNILYNGUISTS – STARS SHINE BRIGHTEST
This track just reminds me of sunny afternoons with friends and drinks. There’s so much amazing hip hop that inspires me and this is just a wonderful bit of music.
BRAND NEW – DAISY
One of my favourite bands of all time, the production and composition of each album is brilliant and unique. Each are so different and this is from the 2009 album of the same name.
TORO Y MOI – SAY THAT
A real genius and I could’ve picked pretty much any song. Definitely an inspiration electronically as well as something I listen to so regularly.
D’ANGELO – BROWN SUGAR
Me and my best mate have this ‘Soul Saturday’ thing when we lived together and still now where we have to listen to soul all day, usually with plenty of drinks. This is up there with my favourite soul songs for sure, he’s a genius.
