INSPIRATION SERIES WITH KARMA KANDARA BALEARIC SPECIAL EDITION

This Christmas, spend your days—and warm your heart—in Karma’s 12 Days of Karma festivities and get swayed to the tunes of the triple threat of international performers they’ve got on: Chris Coco, Pete Gooding, and Jon Sa Trinxa.

Headliner Chris Coco has been one of the house scenes’ prominent fixtures since the late 80’s (starting with acid house). He went on to produce artists albums for the likes of Warp and Distinctive Records and made memorable compilations for The Ministry of Sound, EMI Classical, and Trojan Records amongst others.

Meanwhile Pete Gooding is multi-hyphenate impresario as he has almost everything on his CV—club DJ, producer, radio host, label owner (Secret Life)—pegged down. His Balearic style has been part of the Ibiza scene since 1996 when he became the resident DJ at Café Mambo, as well as Bestival, Stella Polaris Festival (Denmark), and Renaissance (UK).

Last but most definitely not least, we’ve got Ibiza legend Jon Sa Trinxa who has been cutting his teeth behind the DJ booth since ‘87 and the hedonistic rave scene, clubs, and festival around the world. His style has been said harkens back to the classic Balearic sound and he has also released various mix albums—most notably the Space Tranquil series—which showcased his versatile musical taste from electronic funk to jazz-tinged tracks.

To get a taste of what sort of music has inspired them during their careers, check out their Inspirations selection below….

CHRIS COCO

Nick & Samantha - Bitter Sweet Song
A lovely song about Ibiza by my favourite Balearic duo.

Hush Forever feat. Chris Coco - Something Everything
Meditative, ambient, beautiful, a great collaboration with Sebastian from Hush Forever.

PETE GOODING

Maya - Lait de Coco
Smooth French funk for lazy afternoons.

Shina Williams & His African Percussionists - Agboju Logun
A favourite classic African track that always makes it feel like summer.

JON SA TRINXA

Be Svendsen - Drop the Gun (Extended Mix)
Be Svendsen’s original music is consistently well received with every single release. Drop the Gun is taken from his latest album which is truly Balearic blending many genres and styles together to produce a truely unique collection of tracks.

Jose Manuel - Bangalore
José Manuel drops his unique strain of exotic club music; exploring deep, ritualistic and tribal influences to great dramatic effect.

Thanks, guys for your selections! Enjoy Bali and see you guys in Karma Kandara!
