SECRET BALI SOUNDBOY #27 ADRIAN GIORDANO

This weeks Secret Bali Soundboy is another island favourite in Adrian Giordano who as well as being one of the most credible DJ’s on the island is also the proud owner of the greatest beard in Bali!

Hailing from Argentina originally he ended up in Bali by accident which is a wonderful turn of events for the music scene on the Island of the Gods. Also a successful promoter in his time here his love for music and quality events shines through.

Adrian kindly took time out to talk to us about music, Argentinian food and beards of course!

WHERE DO YOU COME FROM AND HOW DO YOU END UP IN BALI?
I was In India, when I realised that my visa was about to expire and I should exit the country, so I found myself booking a flight to Sri Lanka when I suddenly changed my mind and said... mmm.. Lets go to Bali instead. And it's been my longest stay in a place ever.

WHAT IS THE MUSIC LIKE IN YOUR HOMETOWN?
Well... Most people listen to some unfortunate degenerations from Cumbia - which have almost nothing in common with the original, old and sweet classic sound from Central America's good days Cumbia. However, in the last decade Mendoza have seen a healthy growing underground music scene, with great dj's and quite cool parties and events, some of them with world class fun.

IF YOU COULD BRING A TASTE OF YOUR HOMETOWN TO BALI, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
That would taste like Empanadas or Alfajores.

Empanadas and Alfajores

ARE THERE ANY BIG EVENTS YOU’LL PRODUCE IN THE NEAR FUTURE?

There are a few things coming up soon, I will keep you in the loop.

WHAT IS YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE MOMENT AS A DJ?
Probably those people who think they can ask for a track request. My second nightmare would be those who after you politely explain you don't take requests, insist, mentioning the name of that track just in case. Thanks God that happens very rarely.

ARE THERE ANY FAMOUS PEOPLE, DEAD OR ALIVE, THAT YOU WOULD LET STROKE YOUR BEARD?
I won't let anybody touch my beard.

IS THERE ANY WHERE ON THE ISLAND THAT IS PERFECT FOR YOU TO JUST RELAX AND NOT THINK ABOUT A DAMN THING?
Somewhere in the rice-fields out side Ubud, or just getting lost with my bike around the island.

NAME 3 THINGS THAT YOU WISH YOU COULD BRING TO BALI
Empanadas, Alfajores, and maybe few more alfajores.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, NAME 3 TRACKS YOU THINK ARE UP THERE AS THE BEST TRACKS OF ALL TIME.
I don't think there are such a thing as "best" anything, but I can definitely name a few random tracks that I like.

Michael Shrieve with Kevin Shrieve & Klaus Schulze - Transfer Station Blue

State Of Grace - Touching The Times (Instrumental)

Fantasy - You're Too Late (Instrumental)

Love Club - Hot Summer Nights

Teddy Pendergrass - The more i get ( John Morales M&M mix )

Los Panchos - Volver (Alfredo Le Pera)
