Secret Bali Soundboys - #17 - DULLY

Dully is one of, if not the unsung hero on the local music scene here in Bali. He doesn’t DJ so you don’t see his name that often in the usual spots on the island. He is also a very humble guy, often seen standing quietly at the back of gigs keeping himself to himself…

But this guys talent is undoubted and knows no bounds. With releases on the infamous ESP label run by the iconic Lovefingers, he also had the honour of being hand picked to warm up for the Indonesian legends Senyawa at The Vice Event at Potatohead last year with one of his incredible, eclectic and experimental live perfomances. Equally at home with an effect laden guitar set up or an electronic sampler or 3 he is a genuine musician, performer and producer extraordinaire.

If you get the chance to see him make sure you do and in the meantime enjoy this great little feature on him!

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE TRACK THAT YOU HAVE PRODUCED TO DATE ?

My favourite track is ombak langka

WHAT'S BEEN YOUR MOST NIGHTMARE MOMENT AS A PERFORMER?

When i'm not in tune with my emotions, and I am mentally and physically not in tune with the audience.

IF YOU COULD WARM UP FOR ANYONE PAST OR PRESENT WHO WOULD IT BE?

Would really enjoy opening up for Abdulla Rashim, a swedish dj and producer. Also early Plastikman, the track from consumed album thats something else.

AS A PRETTY SPECIAL SURFER, WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO SURF IN BALI?

I have a few actually, I like Uluwatu, Dreamland, Canggu and Kedungu.

PICK 3 TRACKS THAT HAVE REALLY INSPIRED YOU AS A LIVE PERFORMER?

I like all the tracks of this album of Plastikman

WHY DO YOU PREFER USING HARDWARE AS OPPOSED TO A USB WITH TRACKS?

I like hardware because I always play live sets, and hardware is like a toy for grown up boys, USBs for disc jockeys... not my thing really.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT BALI WHAT WOULD IT BE?

That's only in my dreams.
